We left the house at 3:45 AM OUCH!! We picked up Mimi and headed to the airport. We were there in plenty of time to make it through security. We definitely learned from last time! We boarded the plane and headed to LA. We arrived in LA around 6:45 AM and our flight to Maui wasn't until 8:30 AM. We found the gate and waited for a bit until boarding. We were in line to board when all of a sudden we saw people coming OFF the plane. They announced that there was a mechanical delay and they had to suspend boarding. To make a long story short, there was a piece of the belly of the plane that was missing. They had to fly it to LA from Chicago. Needless to say, our 8:30 AM flight took off at 12:45 PM. We ended up having to buy lunch in the airport, which cost a pretty penny! The kids were soooooo GOOD! I was glad that I had packed so many things for them to do. When we finally took off, everyone was so tired. Mason sat in between Chris and me. He was so cute with his headphones on listening to Hannah Montana and reading his magazine. He slept for a good portion of the 5-hour flight! We finally arrived around 3:45 Hawaii time. We rented a huge van, and headed to our hotel! Our vacation has BEGUN!!!

I hate when that happens. I was going to I guess Chicago, the time to board came and there was no plane. We waited and Waited then they flew in another one. About 2 hours later it arrived. It's never fun. You'll have to ask Robyn about their last flight home from Phonex. After much delay they-- and it's late at night, decided they had to go to Kansas to refuel because they had used all their fuel circling. They wouldn't let them off the plane. They went back to Chicago, circled some more and finally got in at midnight. There was 2 feet of snow and the trip home was scarier than the flight. Oh, by the way she was supposed to get out the day before but a whole bunch of flights got cancelled because of the storm. So Bobby had to go back and get them at the airport and keep them one more night. Well, I guess you don't have to ask Robyn now. The kids were also angels everyone around them commented how wonderful they were. Sounds like your three were wonderful too, I just have exception grandchildren. Grams, LM
