Our Move to Cozumel

Three nights into our vacation the resort sent around a paper offering to send us to Cozumel for the next 4 nights of our trip. They apparently were overbooked so they paid for us to take a cab and a fairy over to Cozumel. The hotel was exactly the same and the beach was much better. We packed up our bags and rode the ferry. The kids, especially Mason, LOVED riding on the big giant BOAT! When we arrived in Cozumel we say the Holiday cruise ship that Chris and I went on. There were three ships at the port. We were given upstairs rooms this time so we had a thatch roof. It was very authentic.....right down to the little leak when we had torrential rain one day! Don't you just love the color.....so bright and happy!

Countdown to Spring BREAK!!!

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait! We are going on vacation. The plane tickets have been purchased, and the resort has been booked! WHOOOPEEEE! My sister and I were lamenting about our busy lives, and the stress of WORK! We kept thinking about the upcoming Spring Break, and decided that we needed to plan a trip. There were many different options. We tossed around Disneyland (too crowded), New York (when we go there it will just be "the girls"), Chicago(to visit Aunt Robyn and cousins...not warm enough), Florida(again, too crowded), and then we thought about how much fun we had last June when we went to Arizona. We looked up the resort that we stayed in last time, but it was a bit pricy. I kept searching online and found the Pointe South Mountain Resort, right near the Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe. The resort has a waterpark on property, complete with waterslides, wave pool, kid's play area, lazy river, pools and hot tubs. They also ahve golf, a fitness center complete with classes that are taught all throughout the day, and a day spa! Chris thinks it is a bit pricy, but I think it is WORTH IT!
I am soooooo excited to have 5 days of WARM weather and water fun with my family. Chris has to fly home on Saturday for work, but at least he will get to play for 3 days! The kids are worried about the Easter Bunny finding them. I am sure he will know just where they are! They have a Easter Egg Hunt on Friday at the resort!
Another thing I am soooooooo excited for is my FAVORITE restauraunt, the ClaimJumper. Whenever we visit a city where one is located, we eat there a few times during our stay. I am sure this time is no different as we will only be 5 minutes away. YUM YUM.
Well, if you havn't noticed by now, I AM SOOOOO EXCITED! It gives me something to look forward to. Now I just need to make it through MARCH and all of these report deadlines at School.

Circus Circus

The kids and I went to Circus Circus the night after the marathon. I gave them each $10.00 and they had a ball spending it on all of the games. I always tell the girls that those claw games are a waste of money.....well, the first time playing, Megan grabbed 2 Hello Kitty dolls, and Madison followed grabbing a green turtle. Mason really wanted a squishy ball, and the claw teased them by getting almost to the slot numerous times and then falling out. Mason was really good at the ball rolling race game. He beat his sisters 2 times! Madison was really good at the water game where you blow up a balloon, and Meg kept trying her luck with the claw! I really enjoyed watching the kids have so much fun! The only thing that would have made it better was if Chris were there. The kids really missed him.

Las Vegas Santa Run

One of the highlights of our Las Vegas trip was the Santa Run. Emily and I and the kids all participated in the run. The Santa Run was Vegas' attempt to break the world record for the most Santa's in one gathering. We all were given a 5 piece Santa suit complete with beard to wear during the run. After the run we had to sign in front of a witness for the record breaking attempt. There were over 5,000 Santas running down Freemont Street. The kids were a bunch of "hams" in front of the news cameras. We were told it even made the news in Salt Lake. This is definitely something we would LOVE to do again. I think we make pretty good looking Santas. Ho Ho Ho.

Las Vegas Marathon

The kids and I just returned from our trip to Las Vegas. We had a wonderful time. Emily and I ran the 1/2 marathon. The marathon was GREAT, although I was sick! I came down with a terrible chest cold on Thursday, but by Sunday I was feeling a little better, so I still ran! It was a bit windy and cold, but we had fun. It began at 6:00 AM on the strip complete with fireworks and a performance from the Blue Man Group. The highlight for me was about mile 5.5 when we were running past the wedding chapels. There were some "run through" weddings taking place and they served up fabulous wedding cake! It gave me energy for a few more miles. David and Mandy watched the kids. I "ran" into them at about mile 12 as they were heading to the finish line to cheer us on. after running 13.1 miles, we rested for a bit, got a massage, and then I took the 3 kids to Circus Circus.
